Welcome to the Adirondacks

Entering the Adirondack Park

The Adirondack Park is a part of New York's Forest Preserve in Upstate New York. The park covers approximately 6.1 million acres, which is more than Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, Glacier, and Great Smoky Mountain National Parks combined.  However, unlike other parks, about 57 percent of the land is privately owned.

Old Forge, New York, and the Central Adirondack Region have much to offer. It is truly a four-season recreational area. In the summer some of the many activities include boating, golf, water skiing, fishing, canoeing, hiking, swimming, white water rafting, canoeing or kayaking, and mountain biking.

Winter enthusiasts can enjoy downhill skiing at McCauley Mountain, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, ice fishing, and snowmobiling. The well-groomed snowmobile trail system is often referred to as the "Snowmobile Capital of the East".
